Handling philosophy: calm first, consent always

Ethical walking is about lowering arousal and building trust. We use food reinforcement, choice, and distance to create calm repetitions of what you want to see: loose-lead walking, check-ins and easy disengagement. What we don’t use: choke/ prong/ e-collars, leash pops, flooding or forced dog-to-dog greetings.

Tip: Ask any walker to define “positive handling.” If they can’t describe how they lower arousal and create space, keep looking.

Why ratios matter (and why we’re solo)

Multiple dogs on one handler can increase crowding, leash tangles and social pressure. With one-dog-only, we set pace, route and exposure to match your dog — not the group. That means fewer split-second risks and better learning moments.

  • Predictable pace: no pulling to match others.
  • Clean training reps: focus stays on your dog.
  • Safer handling: one leash, one handler, clear accountability.

Transport, hygiene & weather

  • No crowded shuttles: we don’t do multi-pickup vans. Walks start near home.
  • Clean gear: leads/harnesses sanitised between dogs; own poop bags/bowl carried.
  • Weather-sensible: shorter/sniffier routes on hot or stormy days; shade and water stops.

Insurance, police check & keys

  • Current public liability certificate available on request.
  • Verified police check for all walkers.
  • Secure key handling policy (coded tags, locked storage).

Transparent pricing beats “too cheap”

Over-low pricing often means higher ratios, less time walking and limited proof. Look for clear, published rates and fair cancellation terms. We publish all membership pricing and offer casual solo walks for flexibility.

Questions to ask any walker (and the answers you want)

  1. How many dogs per walker? Aim for one-dog-only or clearly matched pairs of housemates.
  2. What handling methods do you use? Positive, consent-based; no aversives. Space creation over forced greetings.
  3. Do you provide GPS + photos + notes each walk? Yes is the only acceptable answer.
  4. Where do you walk? Near home on predictable routes; no long car shuttles.
  5. What’s your plan in an emergency? Vet preference on file, transport protocol, owner contact flow.
  6. How do you manage heat, rain and wind? Adjust duration, choose shade, add enrichment if needed.
  7. Are you insured and police-checked? Ask for written proof.

Memberships make progress predictable

Calm comes from rhythm. Our memberships create consistent, low-arousal movement: Starter (4/month), Growth (10/month), and Unlimited weekdays. Every session is one-dog-only, GPS-tracked with photo updates.

Boarding that keeps the routine (Weekend Woof Club)

Going away? Our boutique boarding hosts one guest only for calmer stays — daily solo walk on familiar loops, cosy home setup and photo updates. It pairs perfectly with weekday walking so your dog’s rhythm stays intact.
